Good luck buddy.
I am one of those "old men" who like to throw a carrot top?
I hope you have luck purchasing some.
The last time we were able to acquire any carrot tops was about 8 years ago and they were $12 a piece and we had to order a dozen i believe it was.
Get this. I had approximately 25 old very used, very fish-catching carrot tops (along with many other old, antiquated baits that aren't even made anymore).
My house and garage were robbed (we live near Fayette Lake in Fayetteville) last year when Round Top had its annual antiques show.
Among the items stolen was my antique fishing box (tackle box) which included all of my old heirloom baits, including the carrot tops!
I imagine that was one lucky antique dealer that the thief sold my goods to. There was an antique fishing equipment dealer set up close to the end of the road that we live on. Lucky antique dealer i guess. the bad thing is, the entire box was a family heirloom from my grandfather (I am 56) and I had intended to hand it down to my son (who is 6).
I guess all my son will get is a lesson that even in the country there are some selfish, bad, guys...
Anyway, good luck finding some carrot tops.
They are awesome on schooling bass on Fayette Lake in August. I've caught two 3 and 4 pound fish on one bait, one cast. and that is the least of the fun i've had with carrot tops.
