Played the fish light. Took time on the hook set.

The Story:

We were anchoring on several locations on a 1 acre flat with deep water nearby. You increase your chances of catching a trophy bass sitting still and quiet. I was using a Slide-N-Shad, a lure I used to make and sell. It looks like a giant slug. You had to let the lure free fall weightless and twitch it every 30 seconds or so. I use a big 6/0 hook which helps get it down. This still works.

Comments:

Big Bass don't come easy. I tell my clients its like taking that 12 point buck. You have to be patient and be ready when you get a shot at a trophy bass. I soak the lures in KNB. It helps it slide through the moss.
