Significant Factor(s):

Saled down to 12 lb florocarbon and 1/8 oz Lake Fork Tackle tungsten weight on a long Carolina rig and 1/0 hook with the finess bait.

The Story:

We were in an area we knew held big post spawn fish but they wouldnt eat the 12 " worms we were throwing so I tried the scaled down stuff on lighter line and immediatly got bit. The fight lasted only a minute as I had to keep alot of pressure on her due to heavy cover. I am surprised that I did not break off. We put her in the livewell with ice and Catch and Release and fished the rest of the day in a tournament. She was released immediatly after weigh in.

Comments:

This was a two day event and we won it with 52 lbs on eight fish.
